Rehabed.ca is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Canadian manual therapists, exercise and fitness professionals and physical health care professionals to provide a source of updated therapy options and evidence based treatment possibilities for the practicing therapist. Our goal is functional, both literally and figuratively. The rehabilitation and performance renaissance has begun and functional based manual/physical therapy and exercise is becoming the gold standard for care. Yet, it is difficult for clinicians and therapists to get a handle on well presented and evidence based material. That's where we come in. Through seminar and web based education, articles, blog updates and discussion forums, Rehabed.ca is the one stop shop for the locomotion professional to enhance their skills and understand of "why we do what we do".
Functional rehabilitation is more than the old "pain relief-range of motion-strengthen" paradigm. Being functional means understanding the reasons why the human locomotion becomes dysfunctional in the first place and how we can prevent injury, pain and poor movement. By understanding the ideal functioning of the motor system, we can explain why chronic pain is present and devise ways to effectively treat those patients. Rehabed.ca is not a protocol, or recipe for patent care, but a tool box to give you options, techniques and clinical thinking methods to provide the best possible care to your patients and clients. Through educational material, articles, seminars and clinical discussions, our therapists and professionals will expand their techniques and practice in a "patient centred" and functional therapy model.
